To build the fourth annual list, the team at Forbes evaluated more than 2,600 U.S. businesses on three criteria: employer reputation, employee satisfaction, and company growth. Only the top 500 startups in the country make the cut, and what’s more, companies can’t apply to be considered for a spot! Rather, the list is based purely on research done in partnership with Statista, a market research company that analyzes more than 7 million data points to determine which 500 companies earn the title “Best Startup Employer.”

To be considered, companies had to exhibit a startup structure, employ at least 50 people, be headquartered in the U.S., and be founded between 2013 and 2020.
