Filming In South Dakota

South Dakota is surrounded by six states. Its name originates from the Lakota and the Dakota Sioux. South Dakota is beautiful and home to Sioux Falls, the largest city in the state. South Dakota has a wide variety of potential filming locations which can be used when shooting, either historical or scenic, or both at the same time.

Film Insurance Requirements in the State of
South Dakota

Recommended Insurance: 

Certificate(s) of Insurance (COI) as evidence of General Liability coverage in the amount not less than $1,000,000 for each occurrence.

A separate additional insured endorsement for the COI with the following wording: “the State of South Dakota, including its officers, agents and employees is named as additional insured, with respect to liability arising out of the operations related to filming on South Dakota state owned or operated property.”

Workers Compensation: State laws require companies provide proof of worker’s compensation coverage. If a company has no employees the company may submit a Workers Compensation waiver letter.
